It's this kind of stuff that explains why people don't trust the whole Homeland Security enterprise.

I think he missed the point. These guys worked for the University of California, not the goverment. UC Fired them because they were afraid they would lose thier contract to run Los Alamos.
This is really about expecting sub-contractors to self-police. Standard conflict of interest. The University of California has an interest in not disclosing that anything is wrong. Self-policing does not work. I would suggest the GAO or someone hire these guys and send them back, just to poke UC in the eye.
